50 Year Legacy
The Institute of Ecotechnics has a fifty year legacy in which they have demonstrated concepts of land regeneration, planetary stewardship, connection and story telling through art and theater, and intentional community.
Our work can be encompassed by the modality of biospherics which observes the total structure, dynamics and morphology of each life system, including its evolutionary history, together with all its interactions with other forces and entities such as gravity and the sun.
All of our projects are guided by our three principles of art, ecology, and enterprise which we see as necessary faucets of whole system design.
Our Services
I.E. continually develops radical new ecosystem management approaches. We advance our innovative techniques by organizing national and international conferences on the study of biospherics. We have had renowned key note speakers like Buckminster Fuller and Jane Goodall!
Our activities have included the scientific coordination of the ground-breaking Biosphere 2 project, the restoration of an over-grazed cattle and horse ranch in the tropical savannah of northwest Australia, and the setting-up of wastewater recycling systems in desert, tropics, and savannah biomes worldwide.
The Institute consults with a range of innovative projects including: a rainforest reforestation project in Puerto Rico; an ocean-going Chinese junk research vessel; an organic farm, orchard, and land restoration project in the high desert of New Mexico; and an art gallery in London’s Bloomsbury district exhibiting contemporary artists from around the world.
